Nick Cave Says 'Blonde' Is His Favourite Film Ever
He composed the score for Netflix's new Marilyn Monroe biopic
Cave revealed this surprising tidbit in a Q&A on his Red Hand Files website. When someone named Sourav asked, "What is your favourite film of all time?" he simply responded:
Dear Sourav,
Blonde.
Love, Nick
Just in case there were any confusion about what film he was talking about — maybe the 2001 made-for-TV movie, also about Marilyn Monroe? — Cave posted a photo of star Ana de Armas as Monroe.
Cave and his frequent collaborator Warren Ellis composed Blonde's score. But surely this isn't a conflict of interest, and Cave is being entirely objective, right?
This isn't the first example of Nick Cave's rather surprising taste. He recently revealed that he has taken songwriting advice from Coldplay's Chris Martin, who he calls "disarmingly forthright."
