Jacob Hoggard Found Guilty of Sexual Assault
The former Hedley frontman was acquitted of sexual assault charges involving a 16-year-old complainant
Jury deliberation began on Tuesday (May 30). On Thursday (June 2), the jury informed the court they were deadlocked, meaning that they had been unable to reach a unanimous verdict. They continued to seek clarification on testimonies and legal definitions until today.
Hoggard had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Last month, Hoggard was charged with a separate incident of sexual assault relating to a rape that allegedly took place on or around June 25, 2016, in Kirkland Lake, ON. He will stand trial for that charge in August.
