My Chemical Romance Issue Statement on Former Drummer's Death
44-year-old Bob Bryar was found dead in his home last week
A medical examiner is investigating the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected. Bryar's body had apparently gone undiscovered for quite some time.
Bryar began his career as a sound engineer for the Used and Thrice, and it was through those gigs that he met MCR and became their drummer in 2004. He left the band in 2010, having played on 2006's beloved album The Black Parade.
He remains MCR's longest-serving drummer. They haven't had a full-time drummer since his departure, instead relying on hired touring musicians.
