Caribou's Thumping "Honey" Blurs the Line Between ProjectsExclaim! Staff PicksCaribou for the more melodic material with vocals, and Daphni for the instrumental dance bangers."Honey," his latest Caribou single, blurs the distinction. It's a straight-up four-on-the-floor thumper that builds to bowel-rumbling bass drops straight outta the EDM/dubstep playbook. There's also a brief vocal hook — which I'm pretty sure is a sampled guest singer, but just might be Snaith's own pitched-up voice. There are some characteristically pretty synth textures, but the overall effect is one of visceral release rather than studied songcraft. (Merge Records)
